Canada Day 2004

Bahá'í Youth hang-out

On July 1st, 2004, a small gang of Bahá'í youth decided to have some fun together and watch the Canada Day fireworks on the grounds of the Canadian Museum of Civilisation in Gatineau -- an area well-known for its excellent view of the fireworks. We later hooked up with another group of youth and finished the evening watching strange reality-TV shows at Pejman's place.

Catherine and Sarah, crossing Alexandra Bridge

According to Sarah, the cloud is the Cloud of Uncaring and No-Heart is somewhere on Parliament Hill...

The BEST BUTTON IN THE UNIVERSE.

Andréanne, representing Sherbrooke

Persephone (David F's cat), representing Gatineau

The intrepid instigators, freshly arrived, search for a place to sit down

Andrew and Jaleh, chilling with a Canada Dry on Canada Day

And look! Arash's got a Canada Dry too! How patriotic.

Even Persephone is into the spirit of the holiday!

The most pointless patio in existence. I guess what happens is that whenever there's any wind or rain, water accumulates underneath the picnic tables, and, since there's no drainage whatsoever, it stays there for days until it evaporates. I believe the picnic tables are bolted down, too. One of life's mysteries, I guess.

Chillin' in front of the Museum of Civilisation with Mr. Freeze.

Waiting for the fireworks to start...

Nice lights

ARGHHHHHHH IT'S A FULL MOOOOOOOOOOOOON!!!

Spooky shot of Sarah

There we go!

The fireworks were quite spectacular (of course, I was watching them most of the time instead of taking pictures, that's why there are only two pictures so don't get on my case hey :P)

Catherine goes to ask the firefighters if they have any bandages (it's a long story)

Piccolo Grande, the famous gelato dispensary, and traditional post-Canada Day stop for the Ottawa youth.

Stories are exchanged

...and the gelato came in many flavours

The Ubiquitous Martin B., rug trader extraordinaire

The usual blurry shot of Vafa

Sophisticated "after-hours" Martin sips from his glass of juice at Pejman's place.

Yes ladies, he's available! The irrepressible Misagh, at your service.
